tiny series
The Tiny Series is a collection of small-scale mirror works created to make my practice more accessible.
Rather than being framed, each piece is mounted directly to the wall using four L-shaped nails/screws. The deliberately simple installation keeps the works close to the wall and leaves the process of mounting visible — an honest and reduced way of presenting the mirror.
By keeping the format small and the construction simple, I can offer the works at a more accessible price point, without compromising the idea behind them.
At the heart of the series is a simple reminder: a reflection is not necessarily reality.
We tend to treat the image in the mirror as an objective representation of ourselves, when in fact it is only a fragment — a moment, an interpretation, a surface. The Tiny Series turns that everyday object into a small reminder to question what we see, and how much of reality can ever be contained in a reflection.
